It details the growing beer operation of Greaves Brewery located in the Caribbean island of Trinidad. He is also concerned about over ordering to avoid issues from an†¦show more content†¦Data Analysis to Support Decision According to the case, prior to the implementation of the Trinidadian’s government excise taxes, Greaves Brewery was showing signs of growth (Erskine, Leenders amp; Piper, 2004). To show growth trends, a Time Series graph was run from 1999 to 2004. However, the purpose of the case is to determine the quantity of bottles that Greaves needs to purchase based on a sales forecast for 2004. Greaves provided five years and two months of annual sales data. Using Stat Tools, the following analysis were run: Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing Simple, Exponential Smoothing Holt’s, and Exponential Smoothing Winter’s. Following a comparison on the average on all models, the Exponential Smoothing Winter’s was found to be the most suitable model for the case. A graph analysis is captured below. Lord Byron Free Essays

Was he considering other brave men, poets, heroes before finalizing it with Don Juan? Who were the others â€Å"a great deal like him† (Canto 1, Stanza 5, Line 35). This stanza can be more interesting to readers who examine the history of what was viewed as the scandalous controversial nature of his writing of â€Å"Don Juan† and what concessions did Byron have to end up making before it was published. Stanza 5 sums up what he was saying about heroes in the previous stanzas. Stanza 6 Most epic poets plunge â€Å"in medias res† (Horace makes this the heroic turnpike road), And then your hero tells, whene’er you please, What went before—by the way of episode, While seated after dinner at his ease,  Ã‚   45 Beside his mistress in some soft abode, Palace, or garden, paradise, or cavern, Which serves the happy couple for a tavern. The analysis of Stanza 6 lets the reader in that Byron is intentionally not following Horace’s recommendation of when to start an epic. Byron is (intentionally?) not following the rules of what at the time was being seen by other writers as the better way of starting an epic, which was in the middle. This stanza proves to us the writer is choosing not to write using the examples of Homer or Virgil but writing this epic his own way (Canto 1, Stanza 6, Lines 41-44). Stanza 7 That is the usual method, but not mine— My way is to begin with the beginning;  Ã‚   50 The regularity of my design Forbids all wandering as the worst of sinning, And therefore I shall open with a line (Although it cost me half an hour in spinning) Narrating somewhat of Don Juan’s father,  Ã‚   55 And also of his mother, if you’d rather. Although the reader isn’t aware of it until later, Byron reveals to us that he knew in advance he would digress in the poem (Canto 1, Stanza 7, Line 54). The reader now learns that was the writer Byron’s intention from the start. The reader can wonder if Byron is even conscious of how he changes some of the â€Å"traditional† epic writing in writing this work. In `Excerpt from Childe Harold`s Pilgrimage`, answer the following: 1. Does the Byronic hero know any form of Keatsian love? Yes, in that Keatsian love is often associated with â€Å"beauty-as-truth.† In Canto 2, Stanza 9 we read as Byron writes of having loved and it was still in his thoughts although he is now alone with those thoughts. We also read of this â€Å"beauty-as-truth† love in Canto III Stanza I when he relates of the love for his daughter. 2. Beginning with stanza 17, the narrator talks about Waterloo. Why? Waterloo is current to at this time to Byron. Just a few months before this, the fate of Europe had been decided because of that Battle. So it is important that the reader is aware that it is sacred ground to him. The battle was fought on June 18th, 1815 which makes this a very relevant event during his lifetime of 1788-1824. 3. In what ways is this poem about mid-life crises? Childe in this epic refers to a â€Å"knight† and we read as this knight is gloomily wandering as a vicious world-worn man. In his thoughts throughout the â€Å"pilgramage† it relates closely to a man who is going through similar thoughts a man in mid-life crises might go through as though he has already fully lived. 4. How does the Byronic hero relate to nature? Byron relates better to nature than he does to humans. In Canto 4, Stanza 178, Byron states this: There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore. There is society where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal However, in reading this piece, I feel its obvious throughout to the reader that the writer can connect more easily with nature than humans. Because most of Byron’s work is autographical in nature, this is easy to understand if the reader about Byron’personal life. Life After High School Essay The day after I finished high school seemed like a new life will begin. A life that is full of responsibilities, challenges, difficulties, and problems. Now is the time that I should depend on myself. The date was 6th June 2012, I was eighteen years old with absolutely no knowledge about what will happen in the near future. In my country, Saudi Arabia, before you go to any university, you should have two tests. One of them you take it during your studies in the high school and its test your capabilities in mathematics and the Arabic language. The second test, you take it after the final exams and its test you in five different subjects you took it in the high school mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, and the English language. Then the university will take the mean of your results and then it will decide that if you were accepted or rejected. Two weeks later, I got my three results and it were amazing that day was the happiest day in my life, not just because I saw my wonderful results, but also my mother and my father were convivial and they were proud of me. We had a family party inside our home. My sister gave a wristwatch; my brother gave me a new perfume; my mother gave me an iPhone; and my father gave me a laptop. I thanked them all. It was cloudy day, when my mother told me â€Å"Mohammad, now where do you want to continue your studies? Do you want to study abroad? Or you want to continue in Saudi Arabia? Do whatever you want, I am not going to tell what you should do. I do not want to affect your choice. † I was distracted because I do not want to feel homesick, but I want to be independent. We were living in the capital city, Riyadh, and my father asked me â€Å"Mohammad, what is your choice? My choice was studying in my country, but not in the capital city where my family is. I preferred to study in the East Coast of Saudi Arabia. Because I will be near to my family and I will be independent, I killed two birds with one stone. Most student’s first day at university is the most stressful day of their lives because they do not know what to expect or they do not want to go through an embarrassing situations. King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, KFUPM, the best and the hardest university in the Middle East. It is located in Dhahran city. The date was 1st September 2012, when the university starts, I had more than thirty hours in the week in my first semester. My subjects were the English language, Mathematics, Introduction to the university studies, Physics, Physical education, and Computer science. Everything was perfect, until I had my first major test in Mathematics, Algebra, I was shocked about my result, and I got 40%. After this major I had another major test, Physics, also I got an unsatisfactory result. I was feeling frustrated. I ended my first semester, with falling in two subjects Mathematics and the English language, I got D in the Physics. I was disappointed and I wanted to quit, but my mother and my father supported me and they told me you have another chance and you can do it. The vacation was just one week and the second semester will start. I should take the English language and Mathematics again with other subjects. I was peppy and I will do my best to pass. Studying in different university or in different country? † My choice was studying abroad in the USA, because I have friends and they will help me their also I wanted to travel outside my country to be more open minded. Because my grades from the school were excellent, my country gave a scholarship to study in USA. At the beginning, I wanted to go to ELS in Murfreesboro, Tennessee because my friends are there, but the education ministry in my country declared that the ELS school is barred due to the numerous Saudi students in the school. So, I chose EF Santa Barbara in California. The date was 10th January 2014 when I arrived to the city, I was alone. Now I will live with a new family; different culture; and different language. Would they be mean? Would I will be able to understand their accent? These were the main concerns for me. I was in a different country, thousands of miles away from my family and I felt homesick, but I got used to my new American host family. I had an idea to go to my friends in Murfreesboro, it was to 5. 5 or higher in IELTS test to join Middle Tennessee State University, MTSU. The date was 1st April 2014, when I got my IELTS’s result and it was 5. 5 exactly. Immediately I called one of my friends to help me to get the full admission from the university and he did. After I got the I-20, I went back to my country. In 14th August 2014, I want to Murfreesboro Tennessee to join MTSU and continue my studies there. My major is accounting like my father. Now I feel I can rely on myself a lot, I know how to manage my time and my money. Thanks to my mother and to my father and my goal is to let you proud of me.
